Recreation.

Airmen complete, on average, a six month deployment. These deployments are luxurious compared to places like FOB Shank, Kandahar, or even Bagram (which, at its peak, was a small city of more than 40,000 troops). Swimming pools, movie theaters, and basketball courts are available for entertainment; informal Call of Duty leagues self-organize. Small, multi-denominational churches host regular services. Fast food franchises have sprung up over the years, including Subway, Charleys, McDonalds and many more. In some countries, alcohol is available; in others, the bars are dry. The occasional country band pays a visit.
